As some colleges across the United States announce their classes going back to online, students are finding themselves worried about going online.

Most students who go to a four year university don’t take core classes online or never have taken all of their classes online. Taking online classes comes with its own difficulties especially since a lot of things are easier taught in person than through a video call.

Although there are struggles with online learning there are some things that can make it easier.

Setting a schedule for yourself is extremely important to maintain good grades with online school. Dedicating time to studying for certain classes can help you plan your week out better and stay on top of long term assignments.

Another important thing is to give yourself a screen time break. This is extremely important due to the fact looking at your laptop for extended periods of time can give you a headache and you may not be focusing as hard due to boredom.

Giving yourself breaks throughout the day can help you retain the information better and create a better understanding.

Bluelight glasses and getting time in the sun can help with dealing with long amounts of screen time. If staring at the screen for that long is still too much, you can print out the material or handwrite notes and problems.

Printing lecture materials may help you if you have trouble learning from a computer and perhaps making a binder for each class to help you stay more organized.

Don’t forget, that a lot of these teachers whether it be at the elementary or college level are also doing this for the first time and understand that it is difficult for everyone.

However, keeping in constant communication via email or scheduled zoom with your teachers can show them that you are not only serious about your classes, but can help clear up any confusion you have on the course.

Hopefully these tips will help you transition from traditional classes to online classes smoother and more fun.
